MINUTES: MSP to approve the March 21, 2024 minutes (M7S9AU). Quorum for this BEC meeting established at 10.
M7S9AU=Motion, Sir Woody Shields (7); 2nd, Sir Gary Willett (9); Approved Unanimously (AU).
TREASURERS REPORT: Sir Chuck Novak reported April 18th of $3,651.80. Golf custodial funds of $1,769.66 are included. The branch dues were sent to State ($342,50).
OLD BUSINESS:
Publicity: Sir Bob DiMiceli to revitalize our listings in the Auburn Journal and the Foresthill Messinger.
Membership Status: Sir Bill Gray reported one new member; Michael Drost #32. M7S9AU
Eight members were dropped; Sir Greg Saunders #99 and Sir Warren Manley #95 passed away. Dropped were Sir Tom Hart #175, Sir Arlan Deutsch #69, Sir Joe Cuffe #34, Sir Dan Sokol #154 and Sir John Warren #130; none responded to a Form 4s email for excessive absenteeism. Contact with Sir Tuk Tukloff reports that he will no longer be attending our luncheons so he is also dropped. Sir Frank Nissan was also contacted. He is on a deadline to complete book two and a movie script … so very busy. He will be retained as a member.
Luncheon Attendance: There were 74 members, 1 guest and 1 speaker, 76 total at the April luncheon.
Absenteeism: Sir Bill Gray reported making phone calls in January to other members sent Form 4s; Sir Gary Oliver and Sir Gary Lillard, who will be retained as members. They have health issues, but wish to remain members.
Form 27: Sir Bill Gray to report that with 1 new member and 8 members dropped our membership stands at 125.
Form 4F’s: Actions reported above.
Nominating Committee: Sir Glen Kramer has agreed to join Sir Jimmy Mullenix on the committee and Sir Doug Perry will contact Sir Rick Caruso who has said he will step up as a volunteer; which position is in flux. He will be asked to join the Nominating Committee.
NEW BUSINESS
Sir Gary Willett thanked Sir Doug Perry for his efforts at the last luncheon, visiting several tables during the Social Hour as well as speaking to the entire membership attending the luncheon about the importance in volunteering within Sirs. Two members; Sir Rick Caruso (position yet unknown) and Sir Jack Cary, 3Yr. Director (position delayed as Jack is in rehab, recovering from a stroke).
Big Sir Rick Sale noted he and the Little Sir will be gone for the May 2nd luncheon. Sir Gary Willett and Sir Dave Mc Brayer will host the May 2nd luncheon. Sir Glen Kramer will help sell the luncheon tickets for the May luncheon.
Sir Rick Sale will be moving out of state earlier then expected; packing May 16, van leaving May 17th. He will return for the June luncheon and may attend the May 16th BEC meeting.
Additionally, the ongoing issues of getting members to volunteer within the Branch will continue at the luncheons as Sir Doug Perry will continue visiting tables during the Social Hour.
Other Business:
Speaker Program: May will be Monica with the Auburn Senior Center June will be Randy Marnell speaking on Reverse Mortgages and August a speaker on Medicare; July is still open.
Sunshine: No report.

Dining Out (Group): Sir Glen Kramer reported the next Dining Out is May 23rd; more info to come.

Science & Tech: Members attending the 2nd Wednesday of each month via Zoom.
Money Matters: Meeting May 1st at Max’s 3:30 pm.
Bocce Ball: Sir Gary Willett noted the annual tournament starts May 22 Roseville; June 19 El Dorado Hills; July 24 Penn Valley and August 21 Auburn. GOOD LUCK Players!!
